Job Description

 

 

  • We are seeking a highly motivated, smart, and energetic Operations Supervisor to join our Freight Forwarding team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the shipment process, including coordination with global shipping lines and freight forwarding agents. The role requires an individual with strong negotiation skills to secure the best rates for both sea and air shipments, while ensuring compliance with Saudi Arabia's import/export regulations for medical equipment, food items, and other consumables. Additionally, the candidate must have knowledge and experience with Letter of Credit (LC) shipments and be capable of fulfilling all bank requirements associated with LC shipments. The Operations Supervisor must be able to work independently, solve problems, and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.

 

 

  • Oversee and manage the entire shipment process, including sea and air freight, from booking to delivery.

 

 

  • Negotiate with shipping lines and freight forwarding agents globally to secure the lowest rates for shipments.

 

 

  • Follow up regularly with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective shipment handling.

 

 

  • Ensure all required clearance documents are accurately prepared and in compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations for medical equipment, food items, and other consumables.

 

 

  • Stay updated on and ensure compliance with Saudi import/export laws, including regulations related to medical equipment, food items, and consumables.

 

 

  • Coordinate with customs authorities and internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient customs clearance of shipments.

 

 

  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of shipments, providing proactive solutions and resolutions to any issues that may arise during the transportation process.

 

 

  • Make informed decisions to address operational challenges, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.

 

 

  • Manage the overall documentation and reporting process for shipments, ensuring all files and records are properly maintained.

 

 

  • Handle all aspects of Letter of Credit (LC) shipments, ensuring compliance with bank requirements and timely submission of all required documentation to fulfill LC terms.

 

 

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including the customs, logistics, and procurement departments, to streamline operations and resolve issues.

 

 

  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff, ensuring optimal workflow and team performance

 

 

  • Maintain and improve operational procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

 

 

Skills Description

  • Proficient in English and Arabic Language
  • Strong working knowledge of Supply Chain, Transportation Management and project management tools
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or operations management in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Saudi government laws and procedures regarding the import and export of medical equipment, food items, and consumables.
  • Strong understanding of sea and air freight forwarding processes, including documentation and customs clearance requirements.
  • Experience with Letter of Credit (LC) shipments and capable of fulfilling all bank requirements related to LC transactions.
  • Excellent negotiation skills to secure the best rates from shipping lines and freight forwarders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
