JOB PURPOSE / ROLE
We are looking to recruit a competent medical coder to assist us with the proper coding of
medical records for insurance claims.
✧ ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Medical coding specialists are responsible for correctly coding healthcare claims in order to
obtain reimbursement from insurance companies.
Obtain accurate reimbursement for healthcare claims.
Utilize specialized medical classification software to assign services and diagnosis codes for
insurance billing.
Review claims data to ensure that assigned codes meet required legal and insurance rules and
that required minimum dataset and authorizations are in place prior to submission.
If a claim is denied due to incorrect coding, the coding specialist conducts medical records
research and corresponds with insurance companies and healthcare professionals to resolve
the issue.
The medical coder will assign the required MDMA, SFDA, GMDN, GTIN and scientific codes
aligned with standard nphies and Saudi Billing System (SBS) mapping.
Skills
Responsibilities extracting relevant information from patient records.
Liaising with pharmacist and other parties to clarify information.
Examining documents for missing information.
Assigning CPT, MDMA, SFDA, ICD-10-AM, SBS, GMDN and GTIN.
Bachelor degree in medical field (Nursing – Pharmacy).
Clinical Coding background is a must and understanding of the clinical coding process.
Ability to understand a range of medical terminology
