Logistics Supervisor

Job Description

To ensure effective and timely implementation of all logistics daily operational goals inclusive of purchasing and shipping functions and Inventory Management.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the entire logistics process, particularly routing the freight, logistics arrangements and compliance.
  • Support simplification and standardization of processes to accelerate logistics and enhance efficiencies.
  • Co-Lead the development and maintenance of warehousing procedures/processes within the Logistics Program to improve operational effectiveness and Kore compliance.
  • Develop logistics plans to enhance distribution of goods and supplies. Identify prioritize and assess key logistics assets and infrastructures.
  • Analyze contractual documents, technical data, customer maintenance practices, customer operation characteristics, and related reports for assigned contracts to determine maintenance/repair requirements.
  • Identify raw material requirements from production specifications, operational schedules and specification quality requirements.
  • Oversee and monitor availability of inventory to reduce shortages.
  • Oversee daily warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, Purchase Order fill, cycle counting and physical inventory reconciliations
  • Monitor inventory transactions at warehouse facilities to assess receiving, storage, shipping, or inventory integrity
  • Supervise the day to day responsibilities of the team, ensuring that proper procedures/policies are followed and enforced.
  • Communicate and follow-up to ensure team members are fully informed of all new information related to procedures, compliance and company-related issues, changes or actions.
  • Actively forecast, anticipate potential bottlenecks, and provide possible solutions to any identified problem areas
  • Liaise with the production department in respect to outgoing parts and stock management of finished goods.
  • Respond to and find solutions to logistic issues, liaise with other internal departments as necessary.
  • Ensure that correct security procedures are observed in handling of packaging materials, raw material, spare parts, finished product, shipments, paperwork and general freight movement into and out of the warehouse.
  • Assist in inventory control procedures (e.g. cycle counting) for all packaging materials, raw material, spare parts, and finished product.
  • Provide direct reports with leadership, direction, and coaching to achieve work objectives and improve performance and skills.
  • Manage absolute inventory tracking at the warehouse, including tracking all goods until resolution, and securing return authorizations.
  • Manage logistics and lowering shipping and import costs while ensuring deliveries according to schedules for production.
  • Perform other duties assigned by superiors.

Skills Description

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business or Technical Discipline (Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Material Management, Operations, and Manufacturing).

Language:

Proficiency in both English and Arabic Language.

Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate company-wide purchasing initiatives.
  • Strong computer skills and literacy in business applications.

  • Ability to write reports and to prepare presentations.
  • Ability to communicate properly in oral and written forms.
  • Proficient in Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Skype for Business.
  • Good time Management skills.
  • Good knowledge of relevant software and ERP systems (e.g. SAP MM).

Experience:

5 to 7 years of materials Management, supplier Management and supply chain experience in a related industrial production plant (mainly in medical device manufacturing or lean manufacturing assembly process), including at least 3 years in a similar role (supervisory level) within medical device manufacturing.
