Senior SAP Hybris Commerce Consultant

Al Dawaa Medical Services is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Senior SAP Hybris Commerce Consultant to lead, validate, and optimize the implementation and evolution of our SAP Commerce platform. This role requires deep technical and functional expertise, a strong understanding of retail and pharmaceutical industry requirements, and the ability to align Hybris with Al Dawaa’s broader digital transformation roadmap.

The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting system reviews, leading integrations, participating in UAT cycles, mentoring internal resources, and ensuring the scalability and efficiency of the commerce solution across all channels.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical System Validation

  • Conduct a detailed review of the current SAP Hybris implementation (architecture, development, configuration).
  • Audit and optimize performance, stability, and scalability across production and test environments.
  • Validate compliance with SAP best practices and retail eCommerce standards.

2. Business Testing and Solution Review

  • Attend UAT sessions and validate user feedback and corresponding service provider resolutions.
  • Ensure business needs are technically feasible and delivered effectively.
  • Act as the final checkpoint for issue validation and resolution acceptance.

3. Systems Integration Leadership

Manage and validate integration between SAP Hybris and:

  • SAP ERP (SD/MM/Finance)
  • Emarsys (Customer Engagement Platform)
  • Content Delivery Networks (CDNs)
  • Caching and Acceleration Layers
  • Meta-data and event tracking platforms (GA, Facebook Pixel, etc.)
  • Ensure real-time data consistency across web, mobile, and backend layers.

4. Functional Expertise in Retail & Pharmaceutical Domains

  • Understand and design solutions based on merchandising strategies, inventory visibility, customer segmentation, loyalty programs, and pharma compliance.
  • Design commerce flows tailored to pharmaceutical retail, including prescription handling, cold chain tracking, and controlled product visibility.

5. Team Enablement & Roadmap Leadership

  • Act as the technical lead for all Hybris-related efforts at Al Dawaa.
  • Mentor internal Hybris developers and coordinate efforts with implementation partners.
  • Support continuous improvement and future rollout phases (PWA, AI/ML personalization, etc.).
  1. Front-End Development and Customization:
  • Develop and customize Hybris storefront (Accelerator) components to meet specific business requirements.
  • Build responsive, cross-browser compatible, and SEO-friendly UI components.
  • Customize and enhance CMS pages using SmartEdit and WCMS.
  • Implement dynamic web elements and customer journey flows using JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, jQuery).
  • Optimize front-end performance (lazy loading, image optimization, caching strategies, etc.).
  1. Project Implementation Support:
  • Analyze business requirements, participate in requirement-gathering sessions, and convert them into technical solutions.
  • Work closely with the backend Hybris team to integrate front-end features with APIs (e.g., OCC).
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Prepare technical documentation and user guides for implemented features.

8.Operational Support and Maintenance:

Provide ongoing support for live environments including:

  • Bug fixing
  • Content updates (banners, landing pages, promotions)
  • Front-end hotfixes
  • Monitor storefront performance and user experience metrics.
  • Handle front-end change requests from business users and ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of SAP ecosystem experience, including 5+ years in SAP Hybris Commerce.
  • Proven track record in at least 5 full-cycle SAP Hybris Commerce implementations.
  • Experience in retail and preferably the pharmaceutical industry (online pharmacy or healthcare retail is a strong plus).
  • Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.

  • Technical Skills Required:
  • Deep expertise in SAP Commerce Hybris.
  • Strong development skills in Java, Spring, Hybris APIs, and custom extension frameworks.
  • Proven experience integrating with SAP ERP, Emarsys, CDNs, cache optimization tools, and third-party analytics platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of performance tuning, SEO optimization, and metadata strategy.
  • Hands-on with RESTful APIs, OAuth2, asynchronous eventing, and middleware platforms like SAP Integration Suite or Mulesoft.
  • SAP Certified Development Associate – SAP Commerce Cloud Developer
  • SAP Hybris Front-end certification (if available)
  • Courses or certifications in modern JavaScript frameworks (React/Angular)

Functional Skills Required:

  • Deep understanding of B2C digital commerce, customer lifecycle management, and merchandising flows.
  • Experience translating retail-specific requirements into Hybris architecture (promotions, cross-sell/up-sell, personalized content).
  • Strong UAT facilitation and user-story validation capabilities.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical regulations, retail pharmacy operations, and product classification.
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce business processes, including:
  • Product catalog management
  • Checkout flows
  • Promotions & vouchers
  • Cart and wishlists
  • Customer registration and self-service
  • Ability to gather business requirements, translate them into functional designs, and implement front-end features accordingly.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices, Google Tag Manager, web performance optimization, and user experience design.
